Nick Balachov is a confirmed bachelor and solitary guy who isn’t looking for a wife, kids and an HEA.  Enter Jodie, a single mom with a two-year-old who recently relocated to Chicago to be closer to her best friend Kendra.  Low and behold Kendra is the girlfriend of Nick’s closest friend Max Hallsey.

While trying to get everything set up for their business Josie and her daughter Zyana are staying with Max and Kendra until she can find an affordable place.  Max has the brilliant idea that Jodie could move into Nick’s guest house.  Needless to say, a little madness ensues

While this is kind of an opposites-attract story, it is so much more than that.  You see so much more in Nick and Jodie that what is on the surface.  Seeing how Zyana worms her way into Nick’s heart is endearing.  However, it’s the responsibility of dating a woman with a child that may prove to be Nick and Jodie’s undoing.

All in all, I loved this book and can’t wait to see these three pop up in a future Aces hockey book.

Betsy’s Review

Tackle is the fourth book in the Boston Terriers series and centers on Trevor Lincoln and Grace Duffy. While Trevor quickly was enamored with the red-headed spitfire, Grace was a little harder sell.

While Trevor tries to win Grace over at every turn she does not make it easy on him.  Instead of taking Trevor at face value, she allows preconceived notions about who and what Trevor is to cloud her judgment.

Trevor and Grace’s chemistry, funny and sarcastic banter and all the feels make this a fantastic read. The story is sweet, swoony and at times really hot.

While the story centers on Trevor and Grace, we get to see all the characters that we’ve grown to love in this series as well as a pop in from Josh and Ella from Canvas and the mention of Jesse and crew from Tussle.  While it can totally be read as a stand-alone story, if you haven’t read the rest of this series, you really need to.

All in all, a definite 5 star read.

Jacob’s Boston Terriers series is one of my favorite sports romance series ever. With each new story I get more enamored and hooked. I know I say this with each book but Trevor and Grace’s story is something special, and I want to say that this is my favorite…. lol.

Trevor is Brady Lincoln’s little brother, remember from Penalty, and he is also a son of a NFL legend. He plays football on the Boston Terriers team and is basically expected to follow in the same footsteps as his brother and father. Trevor, however, has his own plans and wants to follow his own dreams. You might have come from somewhere but the destination might have changed basically.

Grace is the spit fire of a red head that catches Trevor’s attention. She is hard working and can hold her own. She also plays football on the woman’s team. Grace doesn’t want anything to do with Trevor and has her mind made up about him just because he grew up with money. Boy was she wrong.

It was so awesome getting swept up in their story. The banter, sexual chemistry, just all around feels. I got Tackled by another amazing story by Jacob Chance.
It is a stand-alone but if you haven’t read the others I recommend them just as much. Cheers to another awesome 5 star read!

A sexy but sweet forbidden romance about Boston University Terrier’s Coach Zeke Kingston and his quarterback Amelia Monroe. Zeke and Amelia have an incredible chemistry that while they try to fight against it, it ends up exploding in a way that neither expected. This book is packed with snarky and fun dialogue, steamy love scenes and swoon-worthy romance. For me what made the story was the interactions Zeke and Amelia had with their friends. We got to see favorites from the other two novels in the Boston Terriers series and got introduced to a few new characters that I can’t wait to see more of. Definitely one of my favorite sports romances of the year.

Just Wow! I knew this was going to be something amazing but Jacob Chance delivered his best Sports Romance yet!

Coach is the third installment in the Boston Terriers Series. This is Zeke’s and Amelia’s Story. He is the offensive coordinator to the women’s football team at the University.
Amelia is the new transfer quarterback for the team.

First meeting the attraction was heated and instant but as it being something unprofessional and looked down on, they both fight the feelings and thoughts. To add to it they both had come from bad previous relationships so they both still had those lingering emotions. Zeke is so strong and intense but yet, so is Amelia. She gives him a run for his money which makes their connection more real and intense. Just as much push as there is pull.

Coach is full of fun, passion, and intensity. I was sucked in from start to finish. Plus you get to keep up with your other favorite sports couples in the series. This is a definite five star must read I highly recommend.

What can I say about Harlow and Noah? The way these two stumble across each other is priceless and the perfect set-up to the story. Harlow is a “runaway bride” and Noah is a newly retired NFL quarterback. What starts as a way to help each other out quickly morphs into something much more. Instead of the standard girl falls madly in love with boy story, in this book it’s Noah that realizes how special Harlow is and that she isn’t an itch that can easily be scratched away. By far my favorite book in the More Than Words series. A perfect example of why Shayla Black is one of my top one-click authors.

In Undisputed is not a cookie cutter romance novel but you certainly get all the feels. Owen and Tegan have a chemistry that can’t be denied. Even in the face of the worst, they can’t help but be drawn together. Tegan’s best friend Fiona or FiFi as she likes to be called is who I aspire to be when I grow up. She’s ballsy, sarcastic and a fireball. The characters are believable and well developed. The story itself keeps you engaged from the first page to the last and never moves too fast or two slow. I’ve read various MMA stories and this one stood up to even the best I’ve read. I can’t wait to see what else this series will bring us.

Full disclaimer, this is my first book by this author. Now after saying that I can honestly say it won’t be my last.

This book for me sucked me in from the first chapter and never let up. When an author can in one moment tick me off and then the next make me love him again. That to me is an author folks!!!

I’ve read a few MMA books and I have to say that what stuck out for me is that while yes this was a sports romance the author didn’t over do the sports jargon for me he told a beautiful story that definitely has made my top 5 reads for the year.
